Title: Stage Management Intern,
Duration of Internship: July 8th - July 27,
,
Camp operates on a 7-day per week schedule. Interns will be expected to frequently work on nights and weekends. Time off will be scheduled around the demands of the program.,

Internship Description: ,
The Stage Management Intern is key to creating an efficient and positive production. The Stage Management Intern will work directly with the director, cast, and production crew to coordinate Sitka Fine Arts Camp\x92s Musical Theater Camp production. ,
,
Key Duties: ,
Attend daily production meetings,
Be intimately familiar with script before arrival in Sitka and prepare scene and character breakdowns as needed by director ,
Attend all rehearsals and performances,
Work with the production team to build the rehearsal schedule ,
Conduct auditions with the director, including coordinating audition forms and information sheets,
Handle script distribution and collection via MTI (or equivalent) standards,
Prepare cast and crew contact lists,
Tape the floor for scenery locations in the theatre (for rehearsals) and spike the scenery onstage in the theatre (for performances). This requires the ability to read a scenic design ground plan and use of a scale rule,
Clean up after all rehearsals and performances spaces (includes returning props and furniture to storage as needed, backstage custodial duties, etc.),
Record director\x92s blocking in production book and assist actors with blocking as needed,
Take line notes when actors are off book and prompt actors as needed,
Assist the properties team and coordinate rehearsal props and furniture as necessary. This also includes creating and maintaining a master props list,
Develop preset lists and running order lists.,
Organize backstage storage areas for rehearsals and performances in cooperation with the technical director.,
Write and distribute daily rehearsal, production meeting, and performance reports in a timely fashion.,
Facilitate communication between production staff members as necessary for smooth production operations.,
Record all deck cues, lighting cues, sound cues, etc. and stand-by\x92s in production book in advance of the first technical rehearsal.,
Facilitate communication between production staff members and cast members as necessary, i.e. costume fittings, makeup orders, program proofing, etc.,
Manage the production callboard, including sign-in sheets, and announcements.,
Monitor actors\x92 attendance and punctuality for all rehearsals and performances and deliver all pre-show time calls.,
Coordinate all scene shift rehearsals, technical, and dress rehearsals in cooperation with the director and other members of the production team.,
Call all cues during the run of the show including light, sound, and deck cues.,

Prior stage management experience,

Theatrical background and understanding of the theatrical process,
Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills,
A commitment to advancing the arts and arts education,

Enjoys working with youth,
Safety first (safety of people, safety of equipment, safety of facility),
Ability to teach and train all ages in theater production,
Ability to work with and motivate volunteers in theater production,
Ability to work well with others and to work well alone without direct supervisionProfessional manner with excellent communication skills,
Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines. Must have ability to plan projects and work independently, while prioritizing workflow,
Ability to handle emergencies effectively. Adapting with last minute changes and demonstrating good \x93people skills\x94 and a sense of humor,
Ability to work long hours, and maintain a clean and safe work space,
Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle extensive standing, walking, and step-climbing,
Willingness and flexibility to \x93do it all\x94 and at all levels,

Room on campus from the evening of July 8 through the morning of July 27,
Board on campus from dinner on July 8 through breakfast on July 27,
Access to the Hames Center (on campus fitness facility),
