The Stage Manager facilitates production and performs the typical stage management functions for all season productions, and works with the Company Manager to supervise daily production operations in the absence of senior artistic staff. Proven leadership experience is required.,

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing scripts and music, taping out sets, taking blocking notation and notes, maintaining rehearsal logs, coordinating communications between directors and designers/technical staff, supervising scene changes, and coordinating production activities for the directors. ,

Usually this position is filled by an experienced upper level undergraduate, or a working professional who can afford to work for the experience and the modest salary offered. This person also fits into the \x93summer camp\x94 atmosphere, and schedule, of typical Midwest summer stock. Living arrangements are shared bedrooms in provided housing.,

The experience is typical of summer stock\x97-resume building, experience, networking, and rewarding. Owing to our close proximity to Chicago, many company members use Canterbury as a jumping-off point to move and pursue careers there. Also, Canterbury is located a short distance from the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan.,
