Job Description

Penobscot Theatre Company seeks a Master Electrician.,
,
Primary employment consists of interpreting, implementing, and maintaining all lighting equipment and plots for (7) Mainstage productions. Spot Light Operator/Run Crew positions also assigned for (3) Mainstage productions. Practical creation and sourcing expected, as applicable. Secondary assistance in the Scenic or Prop Shop may be requested as departments work closely on a daily basis. Employment begins with the final show of the 2019/2020 Season: 9 to 5!,

Technician will also take a lead role in the Dramatic Academy as the Lighting Designer for (3) mid-season youth productions, all staged in collaboration with Mainstage Programing. Specific daily duties and schedules to be established in collaborations with the Production Manager and Technical Director upon assessment of candidate\x92s individual skills and departmental needs. Position reports directly to Production Manager.,

Valid drivers license and vehicle preferred.,
,
Assigned duties include but are not limited to:,
-Maintaining and Organizing House Lighting Equipment,
-Communication and Collaboration with Lighting Designers,
Provide House Inventory and Information,
Communicate Deadlines/Expectations Effectively,
-Set up and Engineering of Light Plots ,
-Set up and Engineering of House Dimmer/Cable/Equipment Placement ,
-Adhering to Production Calendars and Load-in Deadlines,
-Scheduled Maintenance and Facility Upkeep,
Basic Lighting Maintenance ,
General Facility Care,
Maintaining Basic Consumable Inventory,
Shop Organization,
Maintaining Stock Atmospherics,
Maintaining Counterweight Rigging System (with Technical Director),
-Ability to Work Safely and Comfortably at Heights and on Stairs,
-Ability to regularly lift 40 lb.,
-Lighting Design for Dramatic Academy as Assigned,
-Spot Light Operator/Running Crew for (3) Mainstage Productions,
-Assisting the Production Crew with Strikes + Load-Ins ,

This position requires intimate working knowledge of ETC software and programing. Experience working with and troubleshooting LED tape/decoders, wireless DMX, atmospherics, and LED fixtures heavily considered. Experience and/or interest teaching and working with students preferred but not required. ,
