The award winning Winnipesaukee Playhouse is looking for a Scenic Carpenter to be part of its production staff at our theatre facility, on our beautiful 12 acre campus in Meredith New Hampshire. This is a great opportunity to work with established and award-winning directors and designers on a 5 show summer season.,

The Company,
The theatre company was founded in 2004, with brand new facilities constructed in 2013.The Playhouse is a year round theatre operation that presents a five show professional summer season from June to early September, The Scenic Carpenter will work closely with the Technical Director, ATD, and other production staff members to execute/fabricate all scenic elements for the summer season.,

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:,
-Procuring building materials from vendors,
-Building from shop drawings(CAD, VW, hand drafting, napkin sketches),
-Load-in and change over of scenery/technical elements for each production.,
-Attend Production Meetings as needed,
-Act as part of a run crew as needed.,
-Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times,

Qualifications:,
-Experience/Knowledge of theatrical and finish carpentry techniques,
-Experience with all standard shop tools ,
-Welding abilities,
-experience/knowledge of stage rigging,
-A penchant for thriftiness with an eye towards design,
-Valid driver\x92s license and ability to drive a 17\x92 Box Truck.,
-Capacity to solve problems and good communication skills,
-Maturity and understanding of the theatrical build process(big picture vs daily tasks),
-Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.,
-Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail.,
-Abilility to work at heights of up to 17\x92+,
-Ability to lift 75lbs.,

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and is able to maintain a high level of production values. Standard work days are Monday \x96 Sat, 9:00 am-5:00 pm. The salary for this position is $275/week, plus housing (all utilities/internet included). A summer gym membership is also part of the package.,
