Cortland Repertory Theatre, a professional theatre celebrating our 49TH summer season is accepting resumes for the Sound Engineer position for our 2020 summer season. CRT is located in upstate New York, a half hour south of Syracuse, on the edge of the Fingerlakes Region. ,

Our Summer Season runs from May 25 \x96 August 22. Shows include \x93Big River\x94, \x93The Cake\x94, \x93Finian\x92s Rainbow\x94, \x93Agatha Christie\x92s Murder on the Orient Express\x94, and \x93HAIR!\x94 plus the children\x92s show \x93The Emperor\x92s New Clothes\x94. ,

Our theatre is an intimate (30\x92 x 30\x92), 250 seat, three-quarter round thrust stage, located on the second floor of a national historic building. Sound inventory includes a Behringer x32 main console with a Behringer x32 RACK UNIT as a sidecar. As of last season, we have all brand-new Shure QLXD wireless microphone transmitters/ receives with Countrymen B3 elements. We also have a variety of other wired and wireless microphones. Our speakers and amplifiers are also from a variety of manufacturers. All audio playback is through QLab on an iMac. ,

A weekly salary of $525 is provided. Travel expenses to Cortland are reimbursed up to $100. Housing is provided in single room/shared suite. We work 6 days a week; payday is Thursday of each week.,

The Sound Engineer shall:,
- Assist the Sound Designer with sound arrangements, including speaker and mic placement, sound checks, troubleshooting, and calibrating/equalizing the sound system for productions and special events;,
- Operate the audio console for performances, mixing live band and vocals during musicals and running QLab and/or the audio console for straight plays and special events;,
- Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of all sound equipment, including body and hand held microphones, audio consoles, power amplifiers, speakers, monitors, and cables;,
- Assist in teaching of actors/crew members on care and troubleshooting of show-specific audio equipment, as necessary per performance;,
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of Audience Assisted Listening Devices, show monitors, and Stage Management headset systems;,
- Assist in the ordering of supplies and the maintenance of the shop, stage and Pavilion Theatre, including the theatre house and dressing rooms as/if they are affected by cabling or monitor/speaker system of the sound department;,
- Personally participate in all load-ins and strikes,

Requirements:,
\x95Minimum 2 years\x92 experience in live sound engineering, design, and modification, in a professional performing arts environment;,
\x95Ability to mix 12-24 wireless microphones and 6-12 piece orchestra.,
\x95Must be comfortable working on a ladder ,
\x95Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds,
\x95Must be comfortable being on your feet for extended periods of time,
\x95Excellent personnel, organizational, time management, and communication skills.,
\x95Be an energetic, motivated, supportive, hard working and cooperative team member.,
