Job Description

Position Title: Mizel Center Technical Director (FT, exempt position),
Location: The JCC Mizel Arts and Culture Center (Mizel Center) is located on the campus of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center at 350 South Dahlia St. in east central Denver, Colorado. (Near Colorado Blvd and Alameda; close to the Cherry Creek Mall),

\x95Seeking an experienced, dedicated technical theatre professional to organize, schedule and maintain two theatre spaces and classrooms within the Mizel Center facility.,
\x95The ideal candidate has a positive personality and is a mechanically-oriented person to organize, maintain, upgrade, improve and advise upon all technical aspects of theatre, special events, film and educational programming at the Mizel Center.,
\x95Scheduling + hiring for all theatre activities \x96 including rentals.,
\x95Preference for any technical director, production manager or technical theatre related experience/ training (esp. sound or light design or operation).,
\x95Job requires night and weekend hours.,

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES + QUALIFICATIONS:,
Responsibilities,
\x95Manage all theatrical equipment; maintenance + security needs of the theatre facility ,
\x95All Scheduling and deadlines for theatre facilities; internal + external ,
\x95Oversee all theatre related budget items,
\x95Oversee all contract negotiations for rentals, management,
\x95Creating Schedules for all rentals, walk through and tech assistant staff,
\x95Hire and supervise all technical personnel required for production including designers and independent contractors. Including rentals and support staff for events.,
\x95Advise EAD regarding the technical requirements of all projects under consideration.,

Basic Qualifications,
\x95Bachelor\x92s degree,
\x95Minimum of five years of experience in some area of technical theatre,
\x95Strong understanding of theatre facilities and standard theatrical equipment,
\x95Strong communication, organization and technical skills,
\x95Experience with technical processes for theatre, music and event operations,
\x95Basic competency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook),
\x95Ability to read, plan and work within budget ,

Preferred Qualifications,
\x95Bachelor or Master\x92s Degree in Technical Theatre (or arts related field),
\x95Leadership and supervisory experience; especially as Technical Director or Manager,
\x95Comfortable with an ETC Ion light board and Behringer X32 digital sound board; basic knowledge of QLab software OR comparable equipment and systems,
\x95Experience troubleshooting lighting and sound equipment,
\x95Comfortable working with artists, children and families,
\x95Lighting, Sound, Video or Set design experience,
\x95A desire to teach technical skills,
