The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is seeking an Asst. Technical Director for its 2020 summer season: Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) presented outdoors on the lawn of McAlister. Into The Woods and As You Like It, performed in repertory at Reynolds Performance Hall. ,

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:,
,
-Assist the TD in the organizational work required to prepare the shop for crews.,
-Assist TD and Master Carpenter in maintaining production quality, schedule and cost control.,
-Oversee student crews in building, load-ins, changeovers, and strike.,
-Verify levels of supplies and tool maintenance.,
-Review proposed solutions to problems of construction and organization; in conjunction with the TD.,
-Assist the TD in determining the order of construction of units.,
-Work with the TD to maintain a safe work environment and compliance with all applicable safety regulations.,
-Lead crews in load in, strike, and changeover alongside the TD.,
-Construct scenery and set pieces, in accordance with plans provided by the designer.,
-Make management decisions in the absence of the TD,
-Your immediate supervisor is the TD, followed by the Production Manager/Faculty TD,

Requirements,
-Completion or near completion of a degree in technical theatre is preferred.,
-Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines. Must be able to plan projects and work independently,
-Experience in a supervisory position and leading crew calls,
-Knowledge of scenic construction methods including MIG welding and rigging.,
-Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks is needed.,
-Experience in the safe usage of a counterweight fly system and soft good handling.,
-Ability to work on ladders, heights, and confined spaces.,
-Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.,
-Capable of lifting at least 70 lbs.,
