"The Junior Intern Company is an audition-based company of approximately 30 local teenagers who put on five productions each summer, as part of the Childrens Theater Series. The Director/Choreographer for this company should be an early-career director/choreographer with a passion for working with young artists.",

Job duties include: ,
-Perform the duties typical of a stage director including but not limited to holding auditions, casting, blocking, choreographing (if a musical), giving notes, organizing rehearsal needs,
-Creatively interpret a script and bring a one-hour production to life within a short period of time,
-Communicate and meet frequently with designers and stage manager,
-Lead daily JI rehearsals (including warm ups),
-Lead specialized workshops if applicable ,
-Attend daily production meetings with Education Staff and designers,
-Assist on other aspects of production/company as needed,
-Attend Barn-related events as needed,
-Be a role model for the company, in teaching them professional theatre etiquette, both for rehearsals and performances,

Requirements:,
-Experience directing/choreographing young people or youth theater education,
-Passion for creating art while educating young people,
-Ability to work in a rigorous, fast-paced environment,
-Innovative thinking skills and ideas, creative problem solving,
-Passion for collaboration,
-Ability to motivate, facilitate and direct teenagers and create a culture of respect and participation,
-Driven self-starter and multi-tasker,
-A sense of humor and fun,
