Job Description

A.Scenic Charge for Festival (with assistance from other staff and volunteers as needed/available),
1.Prep for season by painting mainstage back wall and wing walls, Ha\x92Penny Children\x92s stage back wall, and restoring both stage floors to black.,
2.Be comfortable assigning staff and volunteers projects consistent with their skill levels, and teaching new skills as necessary. You may be asked to conduct workshops in paint techniques as time allows. ,
3.Plan a paint schedule according to show deadlines, with weather taken into consideration.,
a.Our shop is not large enough to contain build and painting efforts, so painting often takes place in the yard behind the scene shop. Approaching rain, heat, humidity, and condensation from the grass will all be factors.,
B.Maintain paint stock and supplies,
C.It will also be your responsibility to figure your paint orders and give this information to the TD or other purchasing agent. Budgets are small, but if you are frugal they should be adequate. ,
D.Assist with build, props, or other Festival areas until scenery is ready to paint (You aren\x92t expected to be of finish carpentry level),

The equipment we have available for you is very basic. We can supply you with lay-in brushes, rollers, and handles. We own a Hudson sprayer and a spray gun.. It is up to you to maintain your equipment and inventories, letting the Technical Director know what supplies you need. We ask that you bring detail brushes, a crescent wrench, and a tape measure. ,

In general, as a member of seasonal staff you may also be asked to:,
\x95Help provide workshops or explain parts of your job to volunteers or other staff members. ,
\x95Participate in load-ins, strikes, major light change-overs, performance set-up and to help in the carpentry shop or other areas. ,
\x95Serve as running crew on shows.,
\x95Provide security for rented sound equipment, etc.,
\x95Assist with other City events.,
Assist with other Festival duties as needed or assigned,
