"Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of American Theater, seeks candidates for the Hair, Wig and Makeup Supervisor position within the Costume department. This run crew position will style and maintain hair and wigs during the run of performances and assist with the makeup requirements of the productions.",

Responsibilities Include:,
\x95Work with freelance Wig Designers to create the wigs for the shows,
\x95Pull and style understudy wigs as necessary in line with the design of the show per the Costume Design.,
\x95Style and maintain wigs and hairpieces according to Actors Equity Association standards,
\x95Apply wigs, make-up, makeup prosthetics, makeup air brushing and style hair for performances. ,
\x95Organize and purchase day-to-day Wig Department supplies within budgeted amounts,
\x95Advise actors on make-up application and hairstyles suitable to show design,
\x95Assist the Costume Director with wigs, hair and make-up for publicity photo-shoots,
\x95Supervise additional hair and makeup crew as needed per production,
\x95Create roller-charts for hairstyles and organize running sheets,
\x95Assist in costume changes and wardrobe duties as necessary. ,

"Successful candidates will have three years of wig and makeup experience in a theatrical setting. Knowledge of styling and maintaining wigs and hair and makeup application. Ability to run show on an eight performance week. Active drivers license. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime and weekend work required.",

In addition, candidates should have good knowledge of theatrical wig construction, ventilating and styling. Makeup application experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Cosmetology license a plus.,
