Description: The Staff Lead Carpenter constructs, installs, and strikes scenic elements for Juilliard productions and perform required maintenance for scene shop and performance spaces as detailed by their supervisors.,

Responsibilities:,
\x95Construct scenery using industry techniques and materials.,
\x95Build and install scenic elements from construction drawings or designer drawings as directed.,
\x95Build and install scenic elements using safe and efficient techniques.,
\x95Participate in strike of scenic elements.,
\x95Implement basic safe rigging techniques for theatrical venues.,
\x95Maintain equipment and facilities in the scene shop and Juilliard venues.,
\x95Assist with the ordering and stocking of materials for shows and shop upkeep,
\x95Accurately track project usage of inventory items.,
\x95Work at elevated heights on ladders, personnel lifts, in the grid, and on temporary structure.,
\x95Follow safety guidelines for all Juilliard facilities and equipment.,
\x95Work weekends and evenings as needed,
\x95Lead projects as directed by the Master Carpenter, ATD and TD,
\x95Lead Load-ins as needed,
\x95Lead Scenery Strikes as needed,
\x95Be on time and prepared for work when scheduled. ,
\x95Ability to work independently ,
\x95Meet deadlines specified by Shop Managers,

Minimum Requirements:,
\x95Four years of scenery construction experience.,
\x95Be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.,
\x95Strong verbal communication skills.,

Preferred Background:,
\x95Leadership role in a theatrical environment,
\x95Previous experience in the support of opera, drama, and dance productions.,
\x95MiG and TiG welding experience.,
\x95Automation,
\x95Sewing ,
