Job Description

"The University of Virginias Department of Drama seeks applicants for the position of Operations and Production Manager. This twelve-month position oversees operations and production for the academic year as well as the professional summer season.",
Main responsibilities include: managing all aspects of building operations for the Department of Drama year round; facilitating and supervising venue rentals for the Department of Drama during the nine-month academic year; and serving as the theatre production manager of the Heritage Theatre Festival during the summer.,

The Drama Building is a state-of-the-art theatre complex, which includes the 520-seat Culbreth Theatre with proscenium stage, the flexible 160 to 200-seat Helms Theatre and, the 300-seat Ruth Caplin Theatre, a thrust theatre. "A Bachelors Degree is required. One year of experience working in technical theatre production or space/facilities management including building and equipment management is required. Must be able to solve problems and deal effectively with competing priorities in a timely manner. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and regulations specific to the technical theatre process. Must be able to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from a diverse audience that includes managers, clients, and the public. Experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Preference will be given to the candidate with a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre with a focus in technology or experience in technical theatre and facilities management, or with four to seven years of experience working in technical theatre production or facilities management. Preferred technologies are Oracle, UBI, and Chrome River.",
