Position Summary: The Assistant Stagehand (ASH) is an integral part of our Resident Crew, and will work alongside the I.A.T.S.E. stagehands from load-in to strike of Milwaukee Rep productions. The ASH will have hands on learning in the assembly of both static and automated scenery and will learn how to efficiently run the backstage scenery and props. Additional opportunities in scenery construction and hands on experience in other technical areas may be available. This is a paid full time position focusing on carpentry and props with both day and evening hours.,

Major Duties and Responsibilities:,
\x95 Work with I.A.T.S.E stagehands to load-in Milwaukee Repertory Theater productions and events,
\x95 Assist stagehands with the preset and running of scenery and props,
\x95 Assist resident crew with creating and maintaining a safe stage and work areas,
\x95 Other duties as assigned,

Qualifications:,
1. 4 years working in technical theatre as commonly found in undergraduate theatrical programs,
2. Able to clearly communicate with a diverse group of co-workers including; stagehands, actors, stage managers, and production staff,
3. Adaptable to new situations,
4. Able to work as a team member and maintain a positive attitude,
5. Must be able to multi-task, maintain paperwork, and be detail oriented,
6. Interest in further practical experience in technical theatre,
7. Ability to pass a background check in compliance with local, state and/or federal laws,

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time. Additionally, this position requires the employee to lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance.,

Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule: This position is full-time with the bulk of the hours happening on nights and weekends as the performance schedule dictates. Longer days are expected during load-ins and tech weeks. This position is paid hourly at a rate of $10.00 per hour and is eligible for overtime. Milwaukee Repertory Theater employees receive benefits, including 100% employer paid health and dental insurance for individuals. ,
