Delbarton School seeks a Technical Director for our Fine Arts Center and for support of various school programs and events throughout the school. The Technical Director is responsible for the scenic design, engineering, construction and paint for the theatrical sets and props, as well as lighting and sound design and implementation. ,

The Technical Director will help to recruit and train a group of Delbarton students to plan and execute programs. Educating students on the safe use of tools, operation of theatrical rigging, building and painting techniques, and theatrical conventions is central for this position. Classroom teaching load will be determined in consultation with the Headmaster and Performing Arts Department Chair.,

Qualifications,
,
Undergraduate or graduate Technical Theater focus and/or several years of similar professional experience.,
,
Experience in secondary or college education is preferred.,
,
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities,

Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills,
,
Thorough knowledge of all facets of theatrical production,
,
Ability to instill, by example, a collaborative approach to production,
,
Ability to provide clear guidance to students,
,
Ability to accommodate programs and events outside of the school day,

This position is a full time, 10-month position (August 15 - June 15), with benefits. Salary to be negotiated commensurate with experience.,
