We provide a broad range of services beyond base fabrication, including design rendering, technical build drawing, cnc routing, and professional installation/deinstalling of pieces. We are located in Long Island City, Queens in close proximity to most major photo and sounds stage studios with over 6000 sqft of well organized work, equipment, and storage space.,

Position Overview/Qualifications:,

Konduit is looking to hire a Senior Technical Designer and Draftsperson for a full time position.,
,
The Ideal candidate posses the following qualifications:,
,
-Has at least 3-5 years of experience as a Draftsperson or Technical Designer serving the entertainment industry,
-Exhibits a thorough understanding of standard theatrical build, rigging, lighting and staging methods,
-Is proficient in several if not all of the following softwares; Autodesk Autocad, Autodesk Inventor, Sai Enroute, Google SketchUp,
-A familiarity with Adobe design software is also appreciated but not necessary,
-Can perform in a fast paced environment with flexibility and attention to detail commonly needed for work in the entertainment industry with evolving project needs,
-Has experience with team and project management, client interface, and,

This will be a full time position. Pay negotiable given level of experience.+nbsp; There will be a one month initial trial period for any brought on for the role.,

Responsibilities:,
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to -,
,
-Coordinating directly with project management and clients to find effective fabrication solutions for a variety of projects,
-Considering client expectations and overall creative desires along with budget, scheduling, and spatial+nbsp;limitations when finding final fabrication solutions,
"-Creating dimensionally accurate models of all build elements to be fabricated and clearly communicate Konduits scope of responsibility back to the client prior to fabrication",
-Creating construction documents for each unit prior to fabrication for internal use,
-Projecting hardware, lumber, and other material needs for each unit and communicate those needs with project management or directly order needed materials,
-Communicating design intent clearly with fabricators and other team members for production,
-Coordinating cnc work flows and managing cnc resources to meet multiple project requirements,
-Managing and maintaining CAM tool libraries, postscript+nbsp;files + CAD Files Storage solutions+nbsp;,
-Clearly communicating project timelines and current project status with project managers,
-Managing Junior Technical Designers to help foster best practices with design and construction documents/build methods,
