Shakespeare and Company, located in Western Massachusetts, is looking for a Paid Electrics Intern to join the Electrics Department. Our season features 8 shows on four different stages. Shakespeare + Company has an Equity LORT D playhouse seating approximately 400, an Equity SPT 4 black box theater with a 200 seat house, and two outdoor theaters, one LORT D and the other non-equity, both which have a capacity over 290.,

The Paid Electrics Intern would work closely with the Master Electrician in assisting in the light plot hang for the season followed by the assistingin programming and then running an ETC Ion light board. The Electrics Intern would then will find themselves preparing and checking the system prior to each performance followed by running the show and ensuring proper shut down procedures are followed. Classes, lecturers and other events for the internship company will be held throughout the summer season.,

Preferred applicants will have a familiarity with conventional theatrical lighting systems. Familiarization with ETC Eos systems and practical wiring is helpful. Candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds, be over the age of 18, and be comfortable working at heights.,

The Paid Electrics Intern starts in early-May and lasts thru early-September, Shorter availabilities will be considered. Housing for non-local applicants may be available though local applicants are preferred.,
