We are looking for creative and talented scenic carpenters to add to our Art & Fabrication Department in Nashville, TN. Willing to look nationally for the right people that are passionate about their craft. Scenic carpenters are responsible for following blue prints, paying close attention to details in renderings, as well as executing builds in a timely manner. Carpenters will also travel from time to time and are often required to load & drive trucks used for activation. Scenic Carpenter with the following skills: · 3-5 years of experience as a Scenic Carpenter · Hand on experience in working with a wide variety of carpentry and finish materials. · Able to build scenic flats, walls & additional scenic elements. · Creative, innovative, flexible and detail oriented with a passion for perfection. · Considerable knowledge of set design and construction. · Ability to work as a team player as well as manage a team. · Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude. · Physically able to manage to lift & move up to 50 lbs. or more. · Excellent understanding of scenic carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. · Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc) as well as knowledge of the care and safe usage of power tools. · Able to keep a neat, clean, and orderly workspace. · Ability to read and understand blueprints, CAD, shop drawings, as well as calculate & order materials. · Willing to work longer hours to meet deadlines which may include nights and weekends. · Be willing to travel. · Responsible for fabrication and installation of scenic elements. · Experience in loading and driving box trucks (12’-26’) · Desire to continue learning. Additional knowledge in any of the following is a plus: · Welding: MIG, TIG, Oxy-Acetylene · Basic Lamination Techniques. · Sewing · Scenic Painting · Acrylic Work Salary commensurate with experience.
