Assistant Technical Director: Signature Theatre, a Tony-award winning LORT B theater in the Washington DC metro, seeks an experienced Assistant Technical Director. Signature produces an average of eight mainstage productions each season in two flexible-seating spaces: the 275 seat Max Theatre and the 112 seat Ark. We also produce a series of cabarets, a student production through our education department, and facilitate a series of readings and workshops of new works. The Assistant Technical Director is responsible for assisting the Technical Director in all aspects of planning and executing scenery for company productions, participates in the design and engineering of new seating configurations for the theaters, and leads the carpentry crew in the construction and installation of scenery. ,,
Qualified applicants will possess a diverse background in scenic construction, engineering, overhead rigging, and automation; excellent problem solving and communication skills; proficiency with Autocad and Creative Conners systems; and be a strong collaborator. Must be able to lift 75+ pounds and possess and a valid driver\x92s license. Full time, annual exempt position with benefit package; EOE.
