The Production Operations + Scheduling Intern works directly with the Production Manager and Operations department. The production staff is also aided by the assistance of several Orchestra Members (Production Fellows) in the set-up and strike of the stage. The Production Intern is expected to work closely and effectively with the VP, Production Manager, Stage Manager, Artistic + Operations Directors, Orchestra Manager, Music Librarian, Music Director, and Guest Conductors to ensure clear communication regarding production needs and abilities for the festival among the staff and clear dissemination of this information. The intern may also report to the Artistic + Operations Director to aid with general operations throughout the festival including artist liaison assistance and logistics. This internship provides hands on insights into many aspects of the music festival\x92s operations and technical responsibilities.,

Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting the Scheduler and Production Manager in scheduling over 200 students and 50 faculty for orchestra, opera, piano and conducting classes, rehearsals, events and performances. Also assists in the daily functions of the production needs of the festival including but not limited to: all production efforts necessary for all rehearsals, performances, workshops, special events, run-outs, master classes, and seminars. Assist in transportation of all production and percussion equipment to all events and rehearsals. Responsible for monitoring all equipment and instruments to ensure proper handling and care, back-of-house duties and stage production requirements as directed by the Stage Manager. Assists with supervision of production fellows, creating necessary paperwork, documents, and forms. Assists the Artistic + Operations director with artist liaison coordination and event logistics. ,

Previous orchestral and backstage experience is desirable but not required, knowledge of classical music a plus. ,

Must be able to handle organizational and communication aspects of the position in a positive, professional, and timely manner. ,

Strong organizational skills required. ,

Must work well under pressure and is willing to take directions and requests from many people while being able to prioritize tasks. ,
,
Required to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as pre-assigned by manager. ,

Must be able to lift 50 lbs, or feel comfortable moving expensive equipment during set-up/tear down of events. ,
,
Must have a valid drivers license, and relatively clean driving record.,
,
Must feel comfortable completing miscellaneous tasks with a team, or alone. ,
,

PAID INTERNSHIP\x96 MCMF offers a $200 per week stipend on top of fulfilling college credit requirements from most major universities.,
