"Bristol Valley Theater, a summer theater in central New York, is accepting resumes for a Technical Director for our 2020 summer season. Shows include Cool Britannia, Bad Dates, Popcorn Falls, Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder, Its a Small World (or The Robot Play), and Amy and the Orphans. Housing provided. Responsibilities include:,
\x95Engineering, construction, installation and strike of all scenic elements for 6 shows in 12 weeks.,
\x95Work with Artistic Director to ensure that all shows are completed on schedule and on budget. ,
\x95Supervise small Scene Shop staff; organize and coordinate all load ins and strikes.,
\x95Provide oversight for all Technical and Design departments/budgets.,
\x95Prepare all necessary working drawings. Knowledge of Autocad or Vectorworks a must.,
\x95Attend all scheduled production meetings. ,
\x95Communicate with other production departments, designers, stage managers, and other guest artists to ensure the safe and effective implementation of all scenic elements. ,
\x95Work with Artistic Director to schedule and supervise scenery running crews for all shows. ,
\x95Order all necessary materials and supplies.,
THIS IS A HANDS ON POSITION.,

Requirements:,
\x95 Mastery of wood and metal scenic construction and fabrication techniques and scenic engineering. ,
\x95 Vectorworks and/or Auto CAD skills. ,
\x95 Prefer 1 - 2 years professional experience in Technical Direction or equivalent. ,
\x95 Excellent personal, leadership, organizational and communication skills. Sense of humor and strong work ethic required.,
"\x95 Ability to motivate, manage and coordinate staff members of varying skill levels. Ability to recognize, augment and/or fill in the gaps in the crews skill set.",
\x95 Well-established skills in handling budgets and scheduling.,
\x95 Must have driver\x92s license and clean driving record. Own vehicle preferred. ability to drive standard transmission a plus.,
Own set of basic tools preferred.,
