Production/Technical Interns work closely with the Production Manager assisting in the daily operations of the extremely active production schedule for MCMF. The Production/Technical Interns work in an intimate environment with ample opportunities for hands-on learning and contact with the designers, stage managers, and directors, including access to production meetings and tech rehearsals.,

Interns will assist in the construction and painting of props and scenic units, the hanging and focusing of lighting, the preparation and application of content for scenic projection, follow the coordination of builds and strikes, and observe maintenance of spaces, equipment and materials. In addition to the day to day aspects of mounting six opera productions in eight weeks there will also be opportunities to conduct research into different aspects of production and learn how to keep track of production budgets. Production/Technical internships are appropriate for those considering a career on the technical side of theatre. This internship will help to develop skills for coordinating all scenic, lighting, costume and sound needs for a production.,

Qualifications:,

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, and feel comfortable handling expensive equipment.,

Must have knowledge of hanging and focusing lights.,

Must know general stage directions,

Must be able to work non-traditional housing including evenings/weekends.,

Must be able to follow directions and prioritize tasks.,
,
Knowledge of set, prop, and production design/construction encouraged.,

UNPAID INTERNSHIP\x96 MCMF offers a $250 stipend per Session* on top of fulfilling college credit requirements from most major universities. ,
