Objectives:,
,
- Work with the production team to understand the artistic vision for the production under the leadership of the Artistic Director.,
- Fulfill the scenic vision or concept of the production conceptually and physically; while collaborating with the Production Team and more specifically the Lighting and Video Departments to do so.,
- Collaborate with the Production Team in the allocation of available stage space for scenic use.,
- Work with the Production Team to monitor expenses and insure that each production stays within budget.,
- Work and communicate with the Scenic Carpenters to insure correct construction of the scenic elements.,

Principle duties and responsibilities:,
,
- Conceive an artistic design concept for the Production\x92s scenery that accomplishes the Prodcution\x92s needs and functions correctly in doing so.,
- Generate a floor plan, front and rear elevations, fly system lineset schedule, color renderings, and a SketchUp 3D model (or physical 3-D model as well) for all of the Production\x92s scenic elements.,
- Prepare all scenic documents including but not limited to: set concept, set drawings, model (digital and/or physical), paint elevations, scenic breakdown, and design presentations.,
- Work with the Properties Master to design and furnish the necessary working drawings and research for all hand props that must be constructed (when neccessary) that are not in our stock items, furniture and other incidentals of any nature as needed by the Artistic Director.,
- Meet all deadlines for the design, including presentation of design concepts and other pertinent production dates.,
- Attends production meetings and tech rehearsals as needed by the Artistic Director.,
- Collaborate with the Scenic Carpenters to produce the final set.,
- No use of alcohol or tobacco or illegal substances is allowed in and around the Theatre building.,

Work Experience,
,
- Experience having designed and collaborated with Carpenters to complete sets for at least two (2) or more productions.,
- Possess a strong Working Knowledge of SketchUp.,
- Ability to think creatively to overcome challenges, with limited resources.,
- Strong technical skills and background.,
- Management and coordination skills with proven ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.,
- Able to demonstrable leadership - thought, strategic and operational \x96 while being able to listen to others and recognize their contribution.,
- Ambitious, \x93can-do\x94 attitude with an entrepreneurial nature.,

Additional Desirable Skills, Ability and/or Knowledge:,
,
- Theatrical technical skills background, knowledge of proper production safety procedures and logistics of a theatrical production are preferred,
- A good understanding of spatial relationships and an willingness to \x93think outside of the box\x94,
- Extremely collaborative, calm / professional demeanor, sense of humor encouraged,
- Ability to execute projects efficiently and according to schedule and an ability to adjust as the schedule varies and includes evening and weekend hours,
- An ability and desire to create an exciting, safe, and visually interesting performance space for the show that functions correctly as designed with ease,
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail,
