A.Supervision of scene shop staff and volunteers.TD will serve as primary shop supervisor.,
B.Ability to read ground plans, front elevations, and design drawings as required by productions. Drafting and scenic design experience helpful,
C.Purchase of necessary lumber, hardware, paint etc. depending on production needs.,
D.Construction of set and some prop pieces for theatrical productions,
E.Repair and refurbishment of stage areas including children\x92s stage, and equipment including platforming, stair units, wing walls, etc. ,
F.Serve as running crew for our self-produced plays and provide technical assistance as needed for package productions and dance or music concerts. ,
G.Candidates for the TD positions must have supervisory experience, and ability to work with volunteers of all skill levels.,
H.Scene shop staff will assist with sound and light load ins, change-overs, and strikes.,
I.Cleaning and upkeep of scene shop and storage areas.,
J.All staff members are expected to provide general assistance to the Festival, including areas outside their normal field of expertise. For example, staff members will be asked to assist with auditions, concert set up or security, and load-ins and strikes.,
K.Possible assistance to other city agencies with special events needs.,

The shop at Dogwood Dell is adequately equipped with most major power tools and a reasonable inventory of power and manual hand tools We own Dewalt battery operated tools and we do have pneumatic capability. In special circumstances, we have the possibility of borrowing special application tools from other area resources.,
The shop has a reasonable amount of stock scenery. Our shows are built by relying on the stock first and building the rest as needed. We depend upon imaginative, resourceful and frugal thinking. During strikes, it is important to preserve as much reusable scenery as possible, reclaim as much lumber as possible, and recycle as much hardware as possible.,

The shop work schedule will vary depending on the needs of current projects. Our actors are all volunteers, so rehearsals, and often fittings, must be held in the evening and on weekends. We can never guarantee a 40-hour week, but we\x92ll do our best to make sure you get at least one day a week off!,
