Position Title: Stitcher,
Department: Costume Shop,

Position Summary,
The Stitcher is responsible for the alteration and/or construction of all assigned costumes.,
,
Essential Functions,
\x95 Constructs or alters all assigned costumes according to the Draper and/or first hand\x92s specifications,
\x95 Actively participates in a team consisting of Draper, First Hand, and other Stitchers,
\x95 Researches the period, style, and techniques necessary to complete the costume within the costume designer\x92s guidelines,
\x95 Maintains the integrity of the costume design,

Qualifications,
\x95 Able to perform a variety of construction and alteration techniques with minimum guidance.,
\x95 Demonstrated proficiency in hand sewing techniques,
\x95 Knowledge of/and experience in a variety of costume construction techniques including tailoring, period construction techniques, and alterations.,
\x95 Demonstrated knowledge in theatrical construction and quick rigging techniques,
\x95 Understanding of period shape and how to adapt it to theatrical costumes,
\x95 Good working knowledge of costume history,
\x95 Ability to collaborate with the costume team to efficiently complete assigned projects.,

Skills / Abilities,
\x95 Ability to operate shop equipment including industrial and domestic sewing machines, multi needle and leather sewing machines, steam irons, and cutting tools,
\x95 Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the builds/alterations,
\x95 Excellent organizational skills,
\x95 Excellent time management skills,
\x95 Excellent communication skills,
\x95 Ability to work under tight deadlines,
\x95 Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment.,
\x95 Ability to lift 20 lbs,

Production Dates: April 6th - July 24th,

Salary / Rate: $12.00 / hour plus overtime,

2020 Production shows include Disney\x92s The Beauty and the Beast, Annie, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Smokey Joe\x92s Cafe;,
