Job Description

Peninsula Players Theatre in Door County, WI, is America\x92s oldest professional resident summer theatre, and 2020 will be the 85th season. Peninsula Players Theatre is a professional equity company that performs in an all-weather pavilion along the scenic shores of Green Bay in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin. Peninsula Players seeks a Master Electrician for the 2020 season. The five show summer stock season requires candidates be able to prepare and manage quick load-in and strikes. An ideal candidate is energetic and motivated to manage the Peninsula Players\x92 high production values. The Master Electrician is responsible for the on-time planning and execution of the seasons light plots and the exterior lighting on the grounds. Sound is also a small part of this position. ,
-Prepare the lighting plots for hang and focus,
-Arrange and pick up all necessary rentals for lighting and sound,
-Maintain all lighting paperwork,
-Track expenses and report them to the Production Manager,
-Organize and maintain the lighting and sound inventory,
-Work with the Technical Director and Production Manager to efficiently load-in and strike each show,
-Secure and safe rigging of all lighting instrumentation ,
-Manage and maintain safety ,
-Manage the safety of the company on stage in relation to lighting elements,
-Intern lighting training and management ,
-Evaluate lighting interns ,
-Evening show duties are assigned as each show demands,
-Proficiency with Vectorworks + LightWright,
-Budgeting and resource management,
-Experience with the ETC Ion,
-Creative problem solving and troubleshooting,
-Some rigging,
-Fixture repair,
-Ability to work at heights,
-Able to lift 75 lbs,
-Understating of theatrical best practices,
-Ability to collaborate with designers,
-Team oriented attitude,
-Excellent communication,
-Effective written and verbal communication skills,
Additional desired skills and responsibilities:,
-Basic understanding of sound systems,
-Experience with QLab,
-Work with the sound designers to prepare for load-in and tech,
-Troubleshoot any minor sound issues that may arise,
Room and board available on the theater\x92s lovely 16 forested acres of shore frontage. Staff arrival date on campus is May 18th, 2020, departure date is after the fifth show opens on September 9th, but preferred departure is after the final production closes October 21st.
