SUMMARY: The Scenic Artist Intern will support the workload and tasks of the scenic art department under the supervision of the Scenic Charge and Assistant Scenic Charge. The position will coordinate with the Scenic Charge and Assistant Scenic Charge in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of all scenic treatments for each production at Flat Rock Playhouse.,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:,
\x95 Assist in the completion and maintenance of all paint and scenic treatments as assigned by the Scenic Charge and Assistant Scenic Charge,
\x95 Supervise an apprentice crew as assigned by the Charge Artist,
\x95 Perform parking duties as assigned by Production Manager,
,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:,
\x95 Hold or be working towards Bachelors Degree in Theatrical Production: Design, Scenic Art, or Technology,
\x95 Or have comparable professional work experience,
\x95 At least one year of professional work experience preferred,
,
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:,
\x95 Proficient Skill in Color Mixing,
\x95 Knowledge of Faux Finish Techniques including but not limited to wood graining and marbling,
\x95 Experience with Texture Treatments,
\x95 Foam Carving,
\x95 Painting of Soft Goods including Scrims and Translucencies,
\x95 Be able to lift 50 lbs.,
