Position Summary:,
ArtStream seeks part-time Lighting Designers to support the artistic, production and acting teams of an ArtStream Inclusive Theatre Company. The Lighting Designer develops lighting designs for two one-act productions that perform in a double-bill.,

ArtStream has six Inclusive Theatre Companies that develop and produce original musicals each year based on the ideas and improvisations of the company\x92s 15 actors \x96 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and other social and behavioral needs. A full production team and several onstage volunteer mentors lead and support the actors throughout the process. Directors and Assistant Directors use improv, role-play and other skill-based exercises to develop characters, a plot and an original script; and Music Directors and Choreographers contribute original music, lyrics and choreography. The six-month Inclusive Theatre season culminates in live public performances showcasing each actor\x92s unique talents and abilities.,

The Inclusive Theatre season is 26-weeks long with 24 two-hour weekly rehearsals; 3-4 technical rehearsals; and 4-6 performances. Schedules vary by location, please see below.,

Responsibilities:,
Attend all production meetings, a designer run, load-in, technical rehearsals, strike, load-out, and post-production meeting.,
Design lighting for two one-act productions that perform in a double-bill.,
Work collaboratively with production team to execute the director\x92s artistic vision.,
Buy or acquire any necessary lighting components.,
Hang and focus lights, acting as master electrician.,
Program lighting cues.,
Supervise and instruct light board operator during technical rehearsals.,
Restore all lights to the given rep plot and remove all gels and specials during load-out.,
Abide by lighting budget of $50, total for both productions.,
Report to Directors and Theatre + Events Manager.,

Qualifications:,
Undergraduate degree preferred; lighting design experience required including hanging, focusing and programming light board; strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; team player; ability to work independently with initiative and meet all deadlines; passion for theatre and a belief in the power of the arts.,
