Scene Shop Supervisor ,
The Conservatory of Theatre and Dance,
10-month renewable professional staff position \x96 August 1 through May 31,
,
Primary Responsibilities,
\x95Manage the daily operations of the scene shop,
\x95Oversee and assist in construction of scenery, welding, stage rigging, electrics, and scene painting,
\x95Coordinate or supervise coordination of properties for all main stage productions,
\x95Assist in planning and organizing projects,
\x95Conduct routine general maintenance, provide upkeep of shop machinery, and provide inventory management,
\x95Assist with scenery installations and strikes of all conservatory productions,
,
Required Qualifications,
\x95Bachelor\x92s degree in Theatre with emphasis in technical theatre,
\x95Experience in constructing theatre scenery and technical production at the master carpenter level,
\x95Ability to read construction drawings and interpret scene designers\x92 works,
\x95Working knowledge of CNC machines ,
\x95Demonstrated rigging skills ,
\x95Demonstrated welding skills,
\x95Demonstrated electrical skills,
\x95Experience in properties,
\x95Experience in various techniques of scene painting,
\x95Ability to follow proper usage of equipment and enforce safety standards ,
\x95Demonstrated supervisory skills ,
\x95Excellent communication skills with ability and willingness to train students of various levels of proficiency,
\x95Excellent organizational and time management skills,
\x95Strong collaboration skills, working with professional staff and faculty,
\x95Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours ,
\x95Ability to adhere to strict production schedule and meet deadlines,
\x95Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities ,
