Description: The Arts Administration Apprentice will be an integral part of the daily life of the CPH Artistic Department, as we embark on our second century of creating bold, thrilling, necessary theatre for our diverse northeast Ohio audiences. The Artistic Department is responsible for all artistic programming, including: season selection, budgeting, and production; literary management; contract negotiation; new play development; casting; and special artistic projects. Apprentices will work side-by-side with Artistic staff on an array of projects for both the current and future seasons, as part of a collaborative and supportive team working to fulfill CPH\x92s core values of artistry, community, and lifelong learning.,

In the producing-wing of the Artistic Department, apprentices will have the opportunity to work with staff in all areas of the company, as well as with all guest artists who come in for our many productions and special events. This area of the department is an integral conduit between our vendors, affiliates, and our partners: Playhouse Square and Cleveland State University. The department works closely with all other areas of the company to maintain professional and personal relationships with artists and stakeholders. Additionally, apprentices will have hands on experience from the early planning stages through completion of our mainstage season as well as our New Ground Theatre Festival, and will assist with administrative and special events for the CWRU/CPH MFA in Acting Program.,

Responsibilities:,

Contracting,

Learn and establish a basic working knowledge of all major unions (AEA, SDC, USA, AFM Local-4),
Assist with drafting and editing contracts for artists,
Maintain artistic tracking paperwork,
Manage department files: copies of contracts, production expenses, union communications,
Manage and track all department finances and work with finance department to insure invoices are properly reported, recorded, and reconciled,
Scheduling and Calendar Management,

Manage the CPH Master Events Calendar, which includes detailed information on all events occurring in theatres, rehearsal halls, classrooms, conference rooms, and public spaces,
Assist in updating and monitoring the extensive performing arts complex calendar, ArtsVision,
Update show-by-show calendars,
Artistic Management,
,
Assist with producing CPH playbills: collection, editing and proofing of the artists\x92 information/biographies per CPH style guidelines, reviewing dramaturgical information, monitor and collect edits from staff,
Assist Producing Associate with coordinating all first rehearsal and opening night artist material, as well as the show-by-show closing toast,
Assist with monitoring CPH casting email,
Coordinate the logistical needs for CPH local casting appointments,
Manage show-by-show Guest Artist Participation requests,
Provide administrative support to the Associate Director of the Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting program,
Act as Young Performer Supervisor, as needed, on productions with cast members under the age of 18,
Candidates should be:,

Highly organized, with an attention to detail,
Excellent in both written and verbal communication skills,
Comfortable interacting with a wide range of staff and guest artists,
Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel,
Discrete with confidential material,
Able to maintain a professional attitude under pressure,
Able to multi-task and be proactive,
