Job Description

Resident Designer/Audio Engineer Job Dates: Now - 01/10/21 / possible year round Pay: $600-$700/wk. Plus housing per week The Gateway is seeking a RESIDENT DESIGNER/AUDIO ENGINEER for its 2020 season. The Gateway is a professional, non-profit theater located roughly 55 miles east of New York City on Long Island in Bellport, NY. We work in two main theaters: the Gateway Playhouse, our 500 seat home theater, and the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts, a 1,200 seat road house where we present at least two shows in each season. Salary is negotiable, and on-site housing is provided. Gateway will also assist with transportation to and from its location in New York. Responsibilities: • Oversee all activities and safety of the Sound Department • Coordinate with the PM, Director, SM, and designers of each production to determine the needs and feasibility for each production • Work with the PM to prepare budget estimates • Mixing all events • Supervise Audio Intern or Assistant (back stage position during performance) • Load in/Strike • Set up pit for live Orchestra • Maintain a safe, secure, clean organized shop and work space • Maintain/repair house gear as time allows Qualifications: • Q-Lab proficient • Mainstage proficient • Experience with digital mixing consoles preferred – PM5D • Experience with Aviom Systems • Capacity to solve problems • Good communication skills • Understanding of the artistic process • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail • Driver’s license Please Email submissions to: HR@TheGateway.org
