The Meadows Production Crew at the Aspen Music Festival + School is responsible for the production of all concerts, rehearsals and events which occur at the Meadows campus, including the two mainstage venues of AMFS \x96 the 2,050-seat Benedict Music Tent and the 500-seat Harris Concert Hall. Orchestra Stage Managers, Parking Staff, and Stage Crew work under the supervision of the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager. As part of the management team on the Meadows Production Crew, the Lighting Supervisor/Event Technician is responsible for overseeing all stage lighting in Harris Concert Hall and the Benedict Music Tent as well as overseeing all special events in the Meadows Entertainment Tent, or on the grounds. ,

Maintain lighting plots and lighting inventory in three spaces: Benedict Music Tent, Harris Concert Hall and Entertainment Tent. Includes dimmer/channel management, dimmer check, lamp and instrument repairs and focus touchups. ,

Some programming and design opportunities may be available during the season depending on programming. ,
,
Supervise training of Meadows Production Crew in lighting basics for orchestral and recital spaces, including basic repairs, and operation of a lighting board. ,

Consult with rentals and large projects for AMFS venues. Oversee power design, tying into house power, backline rentals, and safely running electrics for the specific needs of each project. ,

Coordinate with AMFS Development, Education and Outreach, and Operations departments to advance production needs for special events outside of AMFS mainstage programming in the Meadows Entertainment Tent and other venues as assigned. ,

Assist AMFS departments in budgeting and executing plans for each event, including rentals for lighting, sound, decor, etc. ,

Supervise all events and build work calls with Meadows Production Manager for Meadows Production Staff. ,

In addition to lighting and event duties, this position will be required to assist the Meadows production team as a crew member on mainstage work calls when schedule will allow. ,

Qualifications: ,
,
Currently pursuing or graduated with a BA/BFA in Technical Theatre with an emphasis in lighting or electrics, and/or significant professional experience as a theatrical master electrician or lighting designer. ,

Demonstrated ability to translate lighting designs and plots into functional reality, including power and system design, hang, focus, and programming. ,
,
Candidates must have sensitivity to the needs of staff, guest artists, faculty, and student performers, and a proven ability to work well with others. ,

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Vectorworks required. ,

Experience with Arts Vision is a plus. ,
,
Candidates also must be independently motivated, possess a sense of humor, comfortable working in catwalks/at heights, be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs and ladders comfortably. ,

Candidates must have a valid driver\x92s license for the summer of 2020. A DMV check will be conducted for the candidate hired. ,
