The Cape Playhouse is currently accepting resumes for a Scenic Artist Apprentice for our 2020 Summer Season. We are proud to offer a variety of highly competitive apprenticeships that empower emerging professional theatre artists or individuals currently studying their field in college with the opportunity to develop their skills while exploring the inner workings of a professional theater while working alongside top directors, designers, and actors in American theatre.,

The scenic artist apprentice will assist on all paint treatments of all scenic elements for all mainstage productions and additional elements such as props and set dressing. The Scenic Artist Apprentice will be mentored by the Scenic Charge. Minimum of one year of paint experience and knowledge of proper usage of paint department tools, techniques, and materials required. ,

The Cape Playhouse values tradition, hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and professionalism. The Scenic Artist Apprentice will work with top designers in American Theatre for each show, providing support for each design. Candidates must be exceptionally professional and feel comfortable working with very established directors, creatives and actors. ,

Position is flexible with school schedules and runs from mid-May to end of August. Weekly stipend. Housing provided on a case by case basis. ,
